Luis is a founder of Shorepoint Capital Partners and has over 30 years of financial services experience. He has managed growth equity portfolios for over 15 years, as well as investments for endowments, families, and individuals. As a portfolio manager at Choate Investment Advisors for over seven years, he managed $400 million in client assets and the Core Equity Model. He previously worked for Gannett Welsh & Kotler, Inc. as Vice President, Portfolio Manager and Director of Equity Research and was the lead manager for the GWK Large Cap Growth Strategy and the GWK Large Cap Growth Fund.
Luis also worked for Fidelity Investments for almost ten years. He held the position of Director, Equity Research for Fidelity's investment advisory affiliate, managed a Large Cap Growth portfolio and performed fundamental equity research. He continues to manage client relationships and customized portfolios in Core and Dividend strategies. Recently, Luis provided an interview to The Wall Street Transcript, depicting Shorepoint's philosophy and expanding on the firm's developed strategies. He was also featured in the January 2014 issue of The Suitonline magazine: "Singles and Doubles for Rounding the Financial Diamond".
Luis is a CFA charter holder and a member of the CFA Institute and the Boston Security Analysts Society. He earned an MBA from Suffolk University, where he was a member of Delta Mu Delta, the National Honor Society, and has a BS from the University of Massachusetts.
