One major event can have a profound effect on one’s life, changing dreams and sending you down a different path. Such an event changed Thomas Blottenberger’s life. Becoming a doctor was once on the horizon. Yet, midstream in his college education, Thomas’ grandfather was in need of heart bypass surgery and a valve replacement. He never returned home – never recovering after spending eight months in a coma. Thomas was witness to the pain, suffering, and financial hardship his family experienced.

Thomas knew immediately that he needed to do something to prevent this tragedy from happening to other families. He was so determined that this was his life’s work that he switched from the medical field to the financial world and passed the 10-hour test to achieve the CFP® (Certified Financial Planner) designation before graduating from college. Thomas then joined an exclusive group by adding the ChFC® (Chartered Financial Consultant) designation, one of the most extensive designations in financial planning.

Thomas Blottenberger is unique in his industry; he helps clients to evaluate each piece of their financial picture and structures it properly with the other professionals in their lives. He sincerely cares about his clients, and works to protect their balance sheets so no unexpected life events can rob the wealth they are building. Teaching clients cash flow strategies and budgeting techniques, Thomas has helped individuals and couples save high percentages of income while still having lifestyle and enjoyment today. He believes that investment and retirement strategies should be customized to each person’s specific situation and should be evaluated with all of their assets. By using creative thinking and knowledge, he has helped clients to retire sooner than they thought possible. Thomas enjoys educating large groups of people and has been invited to speak at many events around the country.

Thomas was born and raised in Hawaii and now lives in San Diego, California. When not working, Thomas spends his time on the golf course attempting to break his best score and not his clubs. He also enjoys traveling and always finds something unique and interesting about every place he visits. Thomas believes in living a life without compromise, and strives to help his clients create the same confidence.
