John Hetzel (CRD# 4147688)joined Beaird Harris in 2012 and has been a practicing advisor in the industry since 1999. John has been citied in multiple industry publications and teaches select seminars to MBA students at Southern Methodist University regarding the basics of personal finance. He founded a local non-profit organization and has been volunteering with Dallas County Divert Court helping those with substance abuse issues since 2007. He is also proud of his accomplishments as an Eagle Scout, black belt, marathoner, and ironman.
John is a 1999 graduate of Texas A&M University and passed his CFP® exam in 2000 and has been a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional since 2002. He earned his masters degree (MBA) from Southern Methodist University in 2004 and was awarded his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter in 2011 after completing the three year curriculum. He has always been committed to continued learning as evidenced by his accomplishments as a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), Certified Fund Specialist (CFS), Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA), Certified Foundation Fiduciary Specialist (CFFS), Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst™ (AIFA) and Accredited Estate Planner (AEP). He is an active member of the CFA Society of Dallas, Financial Planning Association and Dallas Estate Planning Council.
