Carl Goodin, a NAPFA-Registered CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER(TM) Professional is President of Financial Planning Associates, Inc., a Missouri Registered Investment Adviser serving clients in cities across the United States, including Charlotte, Dallas, Houston, St Louis, Chesterfield, Manchester, Eureka, Wildwood, Ballwin, Grover, Pond and Ellisville.
We have been helping our clients reach their goals for more than twenty-five years by using the Financial Planning Process as a starting point for establishing and maintaining an appropriate action plan and by using Markowitz Mean Variance Portfolio Optimization to manage investment risks.
Our philosophy and beliefs:
We believe that EVERYONE needs to have an informed, coordinated personal financial plan. The plan should reflect the values and aspirations of the individual, or couple. It should be in written form.
With regard to investment policy, our emphasis is on helping our clients manage risks – all of them. We want our clients to have confidence that their strategy is correct for them, providing the potential for a good return on their assets, without unnecessary volatility.
We believe that in a personal service business, small is beautiful. Big businesses can have difficulty delivering truly personal services. Clients can get lost among the masses, and solutions to problems can require piercing multiple layers of management to find someone with the authority and the capability to help. Our business is small, and personal. We think that’s better.
Small and well-connected is really beautiful. Delivering excellent client service in the 21st century requires relationships with strategic associates, such as Advicent Solutions/Naviplan, Morningstar, TradeWarrior, and Schwab Institutional. Our associates become your associates, our resources become your resources.
Our approach to personal service is just that – personal. Your situation, your goals, and your values are unique. The best answers to your questions are those which recognize your uniqueness.

About Wealthminder
Wealthminder was created for one simple reason: To help people get the financial assistance they need to achieve their long-term financial goals.
Wealthminder is a database derived from SEC.gov data covering every Investment Advisor Representative in the country. We work hard to collect and provide you the information you need to find a financial advisor who’s right for you.
Finding a Financial Advisor through Wealthminder
Historically finding and hiring a financial advisor was hard. Wealthminder was built to make the process much easier.
The best way to use Wealthminder is to take advantage of our free proposal system. All you have to do is take a few minutes of your time to describe your situation and the assistance you are looking for.
Wealthminder then sends your request to our network of prescreened financial advisors. If a financial advisor is interested in your business, they will submit a proposal to you.
You review the proposals you receive and decide if you’d like to have a follow-up call with one or more of the financial advisors.
Throughout the process, you maintain control. We only share your contact information with a financial advisor once you ask for an introduction.
